The Costa de la Luz, and its surf-hub town of Tarifa, are two of our favourite spots on the planet. Out of season, the surf lashes the Moorish town of Tarifa, wind whistling through its winding streets while the wind farms nearby whoosh eerily, cranking out the kilowatts. On clear days, the mountains of Morocco loom on the horizon. Kite surfers’ sails colour the crisp blue sky.

On a warm June day, we stumbled across Atlas Beach, a beautiful shop on a tiny plaza in Tarifa’s Old Town, selling images that wonderfully evoke this incredible part of the world. From aerial shots of the wide, sweeping, golden sands, to kite-surfers making aerial moves, the work of owner Manuel Caminero celebrates this coastline. A former Art Director for an ad agency, Manuel braves fierce waves and rough seas and even takes to the air in a microlight to get the perfect shot.

Thankfully, you don’t have to visit Tarifa to get your hands on Manuel’s work (although we highly recommend that you do): Atlas Beach’s website offers a framing and mailing service all across the world. Framed prints start from 70 euros.
